Scientific interests and investigations

Contact metamorphism:

Klodzko-Zloty Stok intrusion and its thermic influence on the crust rocks (p-T conditions of metamorphism),
contact metamorphism phenomena at the margins of the magmatic phone *ext.phone *ext.massifs in  north-eastern Poland on the basis of the drilling cores of the deep boreholes.

Regional metamorphism of the rocks forming the Polish part of the East-European Platform:

phusical conditions of the metamorphic processes,
an attempt of reconstruction of the metamorphic history of the rocks on the basis of the geochemical studies.

Very low grade metamorphism:

Studies of the secondary alterations caused by metamorphism of very low grade (VLGM) in Permian volcanic rocks of the Fore-Sudetic Monocline.

High resolution transmission electron microscopy:

Studies of the secondary alterations of pyriboles and micas by means of the high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM).

Teaching

Petrology - practical distinguishing of minerals in microscope in polarised light. Interesting laboratory classes with use of modern microscopes produced by Nikon and colour TV camera, what makes possible to show on the monitor screen the microscope images, pictures, diagrams, specimens etc.

Metamorphic rocks petrology for the geochemical, mineralogical and petrological specialisations. Laboratory classes (see Petrology) introducing students in the aspects of metamorphism, presented in various rock types, with special attention paid to texture, deformations and conditions of the metamorphic alterations.

Investigation methods of minerals and rocks - Within the frames of this practical block I approach to the students the problems of the geologig geobarometry and the technique of the high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM)

Student field trip in Sudetes Mts - this field teaching takes place in Central Sudetes and Fore-Sudetic area. During this geologic and mineralogic-petrologic course the students learn various geologic, mostly crystalline formations at the localisations e.g. of  Strzegom, Strzelin, Naslawice, Kletno, Braszowice.
