Scientific interests and investigations
Mineral and petrologic indices of the diagenetic and weathering processes in sedimentary rocks in various geologic ernvironments and climate zones.Evolution of rocks and mineral alterations in processes of transport, sedimentation , diagenesis and weathering. Diagenesia of the clayey and clastic sediments. Processes of the ornithogenic soil formation, their mineralogical and geochemical features.Lithostratigraphic correlations on the basis of the mineralogical and geochemical features of the fauna-absent sedimentary rocks, occurring in distant geologic structures.Paleogeographic reconstructions of the alimentation areas of clastic material and its routes to the sedimentation basins made on the basis of the studies of heavy minerals and recognition of other characteristic features of the sediments.
Isotope and relative dating of the sedimentary rocks not bearing fauna on the basis of characteristic layers, especially tufogenic beds. Origin and diagenesis of lacustrine chalk. Influence of the mineral composition of the rock fillers of concrete on the reaction susceptibility with the alkali-rich cement and quality of concrete.Selected publications
