Scientific interests and investigations
In the area of Lower Silesia two types of the gold deposits occur: the primary
ones
(Stara Gora, Zloty Stok, Kletno) and the secondary ones (Lwowek Slaski, Wlen, Wadroze
Wielkie). The latter comprise also the alluvial deposits from the environs of
Zlotoryja with three detritic areas. Sources of these detritic deposits of gold
are not unambiguously defined. My scientific interest is connected with the
occurrence of gold in the Kaczawa Mountains.
My work aims to
determine the variation of the gold concentrations in the rocks belonging to
Kaczawa Complex, from selected regions of Kaczawa Mountains. These regions occur
in the Kaczawa River basin. I am going to evaluate the participation of gold
mobilised from these rocks in the alluvial gold deposits. In the Kaczawa
Mountains region the alluvial gold has been found in several localities. The
content of gold in the rocks of the Kaczawa Complex is also an interesting
problem, especially when consider the distance from the alluvial gold
accumulations.
I performed the field
investigations in the Kaczawa River basin, from the town of Kaczorow through
Wojcieszow, Swierzawa to Zlotoryja. From the surface outcrops I collected 100
samples, representing several rock types of the lower structural unit of Kaczawa
Mountains. The rocks included: greenstones, greenschists, quartz-, quartz-mica-
and graphite schists, diabases, keratophyres and lidytes.

Average contents of gold (ppb) in graphite schists, quartz schists and greenstones from various regions of Kaczawa Mountains: X1 – Plonina, X2 – Kaczorow, X3 – Radzimowice, X4 – Wojcieszow, X5 – Swierzawa, X6 – Kondratow, X7 – Rozana.
Gold contents were
determined by the atomic absorptionspectrometry (AAS) with the flame excitation
