Scientific interests and investigations

Mineral-forming processes in post-magmatic stage: reconstruction of the mechanisms and physico-chemical conditions of the origin of secondary feldspars (albite and adularia) at the expense of the primary plagioclases; relations between the crystallisation kinetics of the hydrothermal feldspars and ordering of their structure.
Experimental modelling of the secondary feldspar formation at the expense of the primary feldspars in carbonate solutions; the problem of the secondary post-plagioclase albite and secondary adularia.
Kinetics of changes of the feldspar ordering and homogenisation of the exsolved feldspars from xenoliths in lavas.
Experimental studies of the alkali feldspar crystallisation rate from hydrated magmatic melts bearing fluorine.
Experimental decomposition of plagioclase in carbonate aqueous solutions; origin of the zeolite-type structures under variable kinetic conditions; studies of the water position in the zeolite-type structures by means of several spectroscopic methods.

Analcite

Analcite and etched plagioclase

Cancrinite

Application of metasomatic tourmalines as physico-chemical indicators of the metasomatosis development.
Decomposition of rock construction materials in historical buildings, caused by environmental pollution.
