The 100 rubles banknote of the Republic of Armenia issued in
1919 presents in its central lower part Mt. Ararat volcano (the
right-hand mountain), a national symbol of Armenia (though
presently within the borders of Turkey). The left-hand mountain
is Little Ararat volcano; note the perfect cone shape of the
mountain. Both volcanoes are dormant. [Image courtesy: Atsnotes]
Two other banknotes of the Republic of Armenia with Mts. Ararat
and Little Ararat volcanoes,
one of the value of 10 drams issued in 1993, and another
of the value of 50,000 drams issued in 2001.
