The book presents either successful syntheses or productions, or various attempts of synthesis (e.g. in the case of diamond) of various substances being the equivalents of minerals, made by different researchers. The list of the substances reaches almost 220 items, thus it is extensive as for the year 1972. Each entry contains short characteristics of the used methods and the obtained products.
