The National Park of the Curonian Spit, the stamp refers to, was established in 1991. It occupies 26 474 ha. The dry land covers 9 774 ha, the Curonian Lagoon - 4 200 ha. The Baltic Sea occupies 12 500 ha. There are dunes, woods, old forests and various historic, architectural, archeological and other monuments in the territory of the park. The purpose of the park is to preserve natural cultural complex of the Curonian Spit, Lagoon and the Baltic seashore. There are 1 200 species of mammals, 42 species of fishes can be met.
