Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre
Explore the history of Canmore through displays and photographs, from its days as a railway and coal mining town to host of the 1988 Winter Olympic events. Exhibit on the first peoples of the Bow Valley, the Paleo and Stoney Indians. 
A geoscience exhibit outlines geological history from the past 350 million years. View the display on Grassi Lakes and take the self guided hike using the brochure available from the museum. Tues-Sun noon-4 pm; late May-early Sept daily 9 am-5 pm.
