SCIENTIFIC STATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND STUDIES OF ANTHROPOGENIC IMPACTS ON GROUNDWATERS |
Head: Professor Dr. hab. Danuta Malecka, room 17, phone 5540508
The activity of this Scientific Station at the Faculty of Geology commenced in 1993. It specialises in an integrated environmental monitoring
and comprises seven investigating sites, where the following observations are continuously carried: basic climate parameters, ground
temperature and humidity (down to the depth of 4 metres), states of the groundwaters of the Quaternary and Oligocene levels. The running
record may be read any time. Moreover, the chemical compositions of the atmospheric precipitation, seepage and ground waters are
analysed. The Station is a place for the teaching of the students of various universities, interested in environmental protection, as well as for
the investigation of the impact of the Warsaw city agglomeration on natural environment and water quality.
